By registering and becoming a Member of spiderMetrix.com, you are indicating that you have read and understood the terms and conditions as detailed in this document and that you will conform to these at all times.

All activities on the spiderMetrix site are subject to, and governed by, the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.

You are eligible to become a Member (from now on referred to as a 'spider'), provided you are a living person (ie. not a company or business) and have a current email address.

To become a spider, you must complete the registration form, truthfully. If you feel that what we ask is of a private nature, please do not register.

You will only ever register once. Do not attempt to register under different names. If we find out that you have, you forfeit all privileges and rewards, from every registration.

Once registered, ensure your information remains up to date.

Be truthful about what you choose to tell us. Information on the registration form is mandatory. Anything else (like the Profile) is optional. You do not have to tell us, but if you do, we expect it to be the truth. Please note, that any information you tell us, will never (categorically and absolutely - never) be made public (read our privacy policy).

Because we aim to maintain our spider colony fresh and up to date, we require you to log in to your account once every six months. You do not need to participate in any surveys, just simply log in. This tell us that you still wish to be spider.

N.B. New Spiders - by registering at spidermetrix.com, you acknowledge that your activities as a member will be considered "earnings made in the course of an activity done as a private recreational pursuit or hobby". (You may notify us otherwise, in writing, and your Rewards will be subject to withholding tax at the rate of 48.5%).

You are under no obligation whatsoever to participate in any survey (from now on referred to as 'survey') or any other activity at any time. If you do, it will be on the knowledge that you will be rewarded based on a points system (from now on referred to as 'spiderPoints') which leads to the provision of rewards.

There are three types of surveys: a Quickie which is normally one question for one spiderPoint, a Trial (normally between 4 to 6 questions, worth about 10 spiderPoints) which allows us to test a full survey before it becomes available, and a survey which is the fully blown, complete test, worth at least 20 spiderPoints.

From time to time we may offer surveys which will be on a 1st Prize basis. Participating in these surveys will not earn you any spiderPoints, you will however be eligible to win other prizes and Rewards, as indicated to you when requesting such survey.

If you do take part in a survey, we expect that you will answer the questions in a manner that reflects your own honest opinion, and you will not be influenced by the opinion of others. You will not lie about your answers, if ever you feel uncomfortable answering a question, then you may simply abandon the questionnaire. But don't lie.

You will only ever perform a survey once, unless explicitly asked by us to repeat a specific test. This may happen if your responses are unclear or inconsistent.

You may not participate in a survey which is 'by invitation only', unless you have an invitation.

You will earn spiderPoints according to a system in force at the time of submitting a survey. This system may change from time to time, but it will always be published on our site.

Your spiderPoints have no cash value, except as indicated when claiming a Reward.

Your spiderPoints may not be bartered, exchanged or sold to any other person, whether a fellow spider or not.

If, for whatever reason, you choose to terminate your membership and not claim a reward, your spiderPoints will be donated to a charity of our choice.

You may only redeem your spiderPoints on rewards current at the time of making a claim. You cannot for example claim a reward previously on offer, which has since been withdrawn.

Your spiderPoints will be subtracted from your account at the time of making a claim. If, for whatever reason, we or one of our suppliers are unable to deliver your chosen reward, your spiderPoints will be returned to your account.

Available methods for rewards are (1) Cash via Paypal (2) Vouchers via Amazon (.com / .co.uk) and (3) Donations to World Vision

If you choose to claim cash, you must provide us with a valid Paypal account. No other methods are available.

If you choose an online Voucher (which will have an expiry date), we cannot be held liable if you don't use it within the specified period. At the time of making a claim, you can choose between amazon.com OR amazon.co.uk

Once you choose a reward, you cannot change your mind. Your spiderPoints will not be reinstated to your account.

We encourage you to refer fellow internet users to our site, to become members. If you do, you will earn spiderPoints every time someone you referred to us participates in a survey, excluding 'Quickies' and short (less than 20 minutes) surveys.

We STRONGLY discourage you from using SPAM methods to get referrals. If you do, your membership will be cancelled immediately.

We will never (categorically and absolutely - never) make any of your personal details public. Any piece of data which identifies you as a person is securely locked in our own database accessible only via two levels of passwords.

We will ensure that any survey we organise does not require you to disclose any personal data directly to the site. If however, in the process of participating in a survey you provide personal information to the owner of the site you are assessing, then that is beyond our control. Please check the site's privacy policy before submitting any details.

We will only ever use your details to produce demographically based statistical reports, which will be used by ourselves, our clients and our partners. No identifiable details of any single spider will ever (ever!) appear on those reports.

Should we decide to modify our policy then we will notify you via the e-mail address you provided at registration. You may at that point cancel your membership and any details you have provided to us will remain anonymous.

We reserve the right to modify our spiderPoints system at any time. If we do, we will honour all existing spiderPoints as previously agreed.

We reserve the right to decline a spider the opportunity to participate in a survey, for whatever reason.

We reserve the right to close a survey at any time and without notice.

We reserve the right to terminate any spider membership if in our opinion, you have not obeyed by the rules. We will be the sole judge in cases of suspected abuse or violation of our rules and any decision we make relating to termination of membership will be final and binding.

We reserve the right to cancel any membership if a spider has not "logged in" to his/her account, for a period of 6 consecutive months.

Disclaimer of Warranties / Limitation of Liability

You expressly agree that membership and participation in the spiderMetrix program is at your sole risk. All programs and all services offered therein whether by us, our partners or advertisers are provided on a strictly "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranty that anything we provide is fit for any particular use. No advice or information, whether oral or written, shall create any warranty unless expressly stated within this document. We are not responsible for damages or losses that result from participation or inability to participate in a survey, or reliance on or use of information, services or merchandise provided on or through our site.
